This project, The Best Part of Me was a project assigned to me so I could figure out what I thought was the best part of myself. Photograph it, and put it in black and white, then after writing a poem about my favorite part. At first it was kind of difficult. I had trouble with taking the pictures of myself with a big Nikon camera. So I had to take many in order to get the right shot. I think the Rules of Compositions were useful in the project. I used Leaving Space and Background. I think I did very well on this project. I found it fun and new. A little difficult but I got it right.
Depth of field is where the camera focuses on an object and burrs out the rest. We do this so the viewer can focus on the main thing and not what's in the back.
There are two different types of depth of field. There is shallow depth of field and deep depth of field. Shallow is where a small zone looks sharp. Deep depth of field is where most of the picture looks sharp. Describe: In this photo there is an empty Starbucks coffee mug. The mug is in the sun, so there is a shadow of the mug.
Analyze: The photo looks like its in black and white, but really its not, if it were to be in black and white. The sign wouldn't be green. The photo is captured in bright light making the mug have a shadow. Interpret: The photographer probably just like the way the lighting was set. Or they really enjoy Starbucks. Judge: I think the photo was very well taken. They captured the sun in the right place to show the shadow. Along with the brightness to kind of make the mug stand out more. Describe: In this photo one can see that there is rope/string that is in different patterns. There are chunks of the rope/string that is divided into different equal parts. They are going up and under in a pattern.
Analyze: This photo was taken close up. Along with the photo having a up and under pattern. Interpret: The photographer was probably trying to show us what rope/string looks like up close. Showing us the texture of the rope/string in a photograph. And what the rope/strings look like when they are in a pattern. Judge/Evaluate: I find this photo very well taken. Some things are better when they are up close. It makes the picture more interesting. Along with trying to figure out what it is. Its very creative. This project is about me learning about the Rule of Composition. My chosen theme was Friendship. I used friendship because when you're friends with someone you trust them, and you can be yourself with them. That's a great thing to have, your true friends are the ones that will stick by your side no matter what. They will always be there for you. I'm hoping to communicate to you that your friends are important and that you don't just use them. During this project I found it hard to make my friends cooperate. Along with my camera acting up that day. I enjoyed this project because I learned new and exciting things with all these rules and was able to use them by taking pictures of my friends.
